Crumb Fried Sprats with Salad

Sprats are very famous in Sri Lanka as a side dish for Rice.  Try this new recipe as a variant for the popular sprat dishes

Crumb Fried Sprats with Salad

Ingredients

  • 100g Sprats
  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmaric Powder
  • 50g Bread Crumbs
  • 1 Egg
  • Salt
  • Paper
  • 1 teaspoon LYMOL
  • 100ml Oil
  • 1 Onion
  • 1 Green Chili (Sliced)
  • 1 Small Cucumber (Diced)
  • 2 Green Lettuce
  • 1 Tomato (cut in Wedges)

Directions

Step 1
Into a bowl add salt, paper and Lymol and marinate the sprats for about 10 minutes
Step 2
Meanwhile make the salad by mixing the rest of the ingredients with salt and paper to taste
Step 3
Now beat the egg, coat the sprats with the beaten egg mixture and then coat them in bread crumbs
Step 4
Deep fry the crumbed sprat until golden brown.
Step 5
Serve with the prepared salad
