Fish Molee

Today we bring to you a famous dish from Kerala, India. ‘Fish Molee’, fish curry made with fried fish cooked in coconut milk. The word ‘Molee’ means ‘stew’. This mildly spiced stew is suitable for those with a sensitive tongue. However the spice lovers can increase the number of green chilies. The fish curry goes well with white rice, pittu, patta, vellaiappam, aapa etc.

Ingredients

  • 4 Medium Fish fillets (.)
  • 2 Medium Green Chilies (.)
  • 1 Medium Onion (sliced diagonally.)
  • 1 " Ginger (sliced.)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (sliced.)
  • 1 teaspoon Pepper Powder (.)
  • 2 cups Thick Coconut Milk (.)
  • 1 sprig Curry Leaves (.)
  • 3 tablespoons Oil (.)
  • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder (.)
  • Lymol (.)
  • Salt (to taste.)

Directions

Step 1
Wash the fish fillets thoroughly and then marinate with 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon of salt and 3 teaspoons of Lymol. Keep to rest. .
Step 2
Add oil to the pan and sauté the onion garlic.
Step 3
Add the mustard in to the hot pan followed by the green chilies and curry leaves.
Step 4
Add the coconut milk, and turmeric powder and stir well and allow to cool..
Step 5
Blend the sauce and make in to smooth gravy.
Step 6
Take a second pan, add some oil, and the remaining ingredients and also add the sauce which u made before in to a smooth gravy..
Step 7
Add the fish last and cook for another 5 minutes.
Step 8
Switch off the fire and add Lymol in to it and season with salt and pepper..
